I’m Amanda. I work in the Digital team at the Uni of York, and I live in South Yorkshire. I like loads of things: so many that I don’t often get time to do everything I would like. But my main loves are walking and photography - although I’m strictly amateur at both of them.
I think you can tell a lot about a person by what they read. I love my kindle. That means I don’t have loads of books on bookshelves: unlike my friend, whose bookcase is pictured. To make up for that I use Goodreads so I can have a virtual bookshelf.
I've just been working my way through some Poirot novels. So I'm having a break and reading a fun book. After that I've got David Mitchell's new book queued up.
So I rather enjoyed coding this site: it was a bit new for me. It’s based on Google’s pyramids of Giza website. But I couldn’t find a bootstrap plugin/manager to do what I wanted. So I’ve ended up doing it in jquery/js myself.
The things I'm most pleased with: the "slides" effect for each chunk of information and the tiny size change on the header menu.
The things I still need to sort: testing on a few more mobile devices, and seeing if I can do something about the sizing of the backgrounds when mobile browsers hide their chrome!
